Getting Google Reader RSS Tags


I did a little bit of work with the Google Reader Windows Mobile Client POC tonight.  I was able to get each tag I created and assign a button to them.  Again, this very very early code and I am not a UI designer by any means.

More specifically, I figured out how to, in the easiest way, process the XML data returned from Google.  You can construct different HTTP GET/POST methods that will return the data desired in XML form.  You then have to process the XML and extract the desired data from it.  It’s not very hard once you understand XML.

From here, I want to display the number of unread news articles for each tag.  I also want to be able to click a button and have the application load all the unread articles onto the form in the same form we are loading the tags, as buttons.  Check the gallery below.
